LET'S PUT OUR COUNTRY FIRST

Image
As Nigeria marks her 59th independence anniversary, De Norsemen Kclub International uses this historic occasion to call on all citizens at all levels to live aboveboard and put Nigeria first in all their activities, bearing in mind that no nation attains greatness without the hard work and commitment of the citizens, who are either leaders or followers. At 59, our country has attained the age of maturity. It is, therefore, inexcusable to justify our challenges, revel in rationalization and think that we are still young to stand on our own and manage our affairs as a virile and progressive nation. It is also unacceptable to compare ourselves with other countries that are of the same age, who may not be doing well in their growth and development. After a holistic appraisal of the journey so far, De Norsemen Kclub International is convinced that we can have a better, united and wealthy country where the prosperity of the citizens, security of lives and property, as well as love for...

APC chieftain petitions IG over alleged harassment

Edward Nnachi, Abakaliki THE Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ebonyi State chapter, Okenwa Uka, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, over the alleged misconduct and harassment by Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Cultsm Unit at the Enugu State Police Command, DSP Chidobe Ekeleme. The APC chieftain alleged that Ekeleme illegally obstructed his group’s meeting in Enugu on Friday, September 6 and Sunday, September 8, 2019, for refusing to pay him N2m as bribe. Uka, who is also the South-East Zonal Director of De Norsemen Kclub Inc, said the likes of Ekeleme had given a bad reputation to the Nigeria Police Force. Uka, during a meeting with journalists, said, “We were never arrested nor paraded, but ill-treated, for failure to give Ekeleme the sum of N2m bribe. “The overzealous police officer by name, DSP Chidobe Ekeleme, came to a venue, where we (De Norsemen Kclub Inc. members) were having our zonal convention. He told me that the Commissioner o...

Why DSP, Chidobe Ekeleme of Enugu State Police Command is after us - De Norsemen Kclub International Magnus Eze, Enugu No fewer than 20 members of a humanitarian organisation, De Norsemen Klub International (DNKI), were on Monady, paraded as common criminals at the Enugu State Police Command. The police had last weekend, allegedly disrupted the group’s South East zonal conference at a highbrow hotel in GRA, Enugu, and arrested some of their members. Leader of the club in the South East, Comarde Okenwa Uka, who addressed newsmen at the premises of the magistrate court, where they were arraigned and subsequently granted bail by Magistrate Dennis Eko, accused the police of witch hunting them for allegedly failing to give N2million to the officer in charge of the anti-cult unit of the command. Explaining how the police in Enugu branded the organization a cult group, he said that they were shocked to hear from the police prosecutor that the evidence they had against them was the ba...

HORRIBLE NIGERIA: THE TALE OF HOUSING AND THE LACE OF CORRUPTION!

Most times I feel like losing my cool and hope on Nigeria. This is usually so as every hope dies with a new apostle. Those whom have sounded saintly turn more Satan when given the opportunity to make corrections. Recently I have wondered why it is very difficult for the poor to have a decent shelter over him or her in Nigeria. This keeps coming to me like a begging question and more with such unavoidable fuss. Why is housing a big challenge in Nigeria despite all the gracious policies and programs by the governments? Here in Nigeria we have Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Federal Staff Loans Board, National Housing  Fund (NHF), Accelerated Mass Housing Development Scheme, Primary Mortgage Institutions (PMIs), Mortgage Refinancing Institution (MRI) and lots more. Even with all these, Nigeria runs huge housing deficit in expanding habit. So instead of things getting better with the policies we are seeing things getting worse. It simply means that there is something wr...

THE EGRETS, HERDS AND HERDSMEN

The egret was our friend The herds were our friends The herdsmen were our friends But they were fleeting friends. Like a company, we saw them While the herds roamed around Under the magical control of herders Egrets drove our fancy They had their job I think a very tasking one Taking away the pains Of lice, flies and more They did all at a go We could take joy in our sight This is our village experience As though the schools measured time Our dismissals were greeted by the trio They were all our friends in an accord The egrets gave us white finger nails Yes sang in plea of that We were sure they were magnanimous Riding on the back of the herds As the herds moved about in freedom The herdsmen returned our jeers Aboki Nnama we chorused chasing them Aboki Nyamiri they returned countlessly We had the fun and they cheered their day What has happened to our friends? Once friends, now dreaded Like Solomon's dead child Were they changed And by who? When our friends hit wrong farms We told ...

DE NORSEMEN KCLUB INC CELEBRATES WORKER'S DAY....*

Image
* Says its criinal to owe workers* The International President of De Norsemen Kclub  Incorporated, DNKI, Chief Dr Adeshola Giwa, has stated that Governors who fail to pay the salaries and allowances of workers as at when due are committing crimes against God and humanity. He made this known while interacting with some workers to mark the 2019 Workers' Day Celebration, upon his return from the United Arab Emirates where De Norsemen Kclub Incorporated held her 2019 first quarter International Converge from 22nd to 28th April, 2019. "According to the bible, every worker deserves their wages. It is, therefore, criminal, inhuman and ungodly to owe workers. It is an inexplicable social injustice. I cannot understand why workers will spend their time and energy to work and will not be paid as at when due. This is unjustifiable and entirely unacceptable", he said. Chief Dr Giwa opined that the resurgence in criminal activities across the states of the Federation may not be unco...

COMPARISON BUILDS AN UNHAPPY MIND...

Image
I actually could not agree less. Some people poison themselves with trying to be like others or even compete with them. There is no competition in destiny. You have to understand that your destiny is a perfect one as no one can come into it and be better than you. Also if you leave yours and dabble into the next person's destiny, you can never be better than that person. Don't compare yourself with anybody and don't compete with anybody. From comparison comes competition, jealousy, frustration, strife, hatred and you become either a witch or a wizard. You know what? Comparison is indeed the thief of joy! Don't let it thief your joy right about now...
