HISTORIC RESOLUTION IN OBOHIA/EKWERAZU TOWN WARD: A NEW ERA OF INCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION

In a landmark decision, the leaders of Obohia/Ekwerazu Town Ward have resolved to zone the councilor position to Umuihuocha Obohia, ensuring rotational representation and fairness for all. This move comes after careful consideration and deliberation, driven by the need to address the imbalance in representation among communities in the ward.


According to sources, the resolution was necessitated by the fact that other communities in the ward have completed two terms in office, while Umuihuocha Obohia had only one term, and Ekwerazu Town has not had any representation. This disparity led to concerns about fairness and equity, prompting the leaders to take action.


The resolution, adopted on July 19, 2024, states that Umuihuocha Obohia will complete their two-term tenure, followed by Ekwerazu Town in 2027. This ensures that every community has an equal chance to lead and be represented.


In a bold move, the leaders have also adopted *Comr. Uchech'ukwu Wisdom O. (DonWis)* as their sole candidate for the councilor election. DonWis's exceptional leadership skills, charisma, and dedication to the welfare of the people make him the best fit to represent the ward.
